PROGRAMS
Our Learning Philosophy
At Little Wonders, we believe children learn best through relationships, play, faith, exploration, structure, consistency, emotional safety, and engaged teaching. Every moment is an opportunity to nurture curiosity, confidence, and character.
Art
A creative space where children explore color, texture, and imagination. Through painting, drawing, crafting, and hands-on projects, children express themselves freely while building fine‑motor skills, confidence, and a love for creativity.
Language & Literacy
Rich early learning experiences that build vocabulary, comprehension, and communication. Through stories, conversations, songs, and pre‑writing activities, children strengthen the skills that form the foundation for confident readers and expressive communicators.
Music & Movement
Joyful, high-energy experiences that blend rhythm, dance, instruments, and whole‑body movement. Children develop coordination, listening skills, and self-regulation while discovering how music connects us, inspires us, and brings our classrooms to life.
S.T.E.M.
Hands-on exploration of science, technology, engineering, and math through play-based discovery. Children investigate, build, experiment, and problem-solve — developing curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning about how the world works.
Bible/Prayer Time
A gentle, faith-centered moment woven into each day. Children hear simple Bible stories, practice gratitude, learn foundational truths, and experience prayer in a warm, age-appropriate way that helps them grow into who God created them to be.
Outside Play/Large Muscle
Daily outdoor time designed for movement, adventure, and fresh air. Children climb, run, jump, dig, and explore nature while developing balance, strength, coordination, and confidence. Our playgrounds and outdoor spaces encourage imagination, teamwork, and joyful play.
ECIPS (Early Childhood Indicators of Progress)
Minnesota’s early learning standards are called the Early Childhood Indicators of Progress, or ECIPs, and are aligned with the kindergarten academic standards. The ECIPs are a tool for early care and education programs to plan curriculum, instruction, assessment and professional development activities. The domains of learning addressed in the ECIPs are:
-
Social and Emotional Development
-
Approaches to Learning
-
Language, Literacy and Communications
-
Creativity and the Arts
-
Cognitive Development: Mathematics, Science and Social Systems
-
Physical and Movement Development
At Little Wonders we are committed to exceeding the standards for these domains of learning. We strive to help the children in our program go to Kindergarten with confidence and understanding.
